people fear death because subconsciously we know that once we die it would be the end. No resurrection, no after life, no reincarnation, no heaven nor hell, no nothing. The uncertainty is what makes people cling to religious beliefs (which we don’t even know if it’s real or not) because truth is, we don’t want our puny lives to end just like that.
Think about it; People go to work, make money their whole lives, drive cars, worry about taxes… and for what? To die in the end? It just seems like life is just a big joke.
What is the purpose of humanity in the grand scheme of things? Are we here just to simply exist? If that’s the case, why are we even given the ability to think?
Being conscious of what’s happening around us is painful. The lower animals are lucky to live their whole lives not knowing such things.
